Cantabile the ACFAA Choir –Singing together in English and French

This well established choir sings under the direction of Simon Kenworthy and rehearses works from many composers. The general programme is classical rather than ‘pop’, but covers a wide range of musical tastes.

All voices are welcome and the ability to read music, though not essential, is helpful. You do need to be able to print music from your computer and to download and listen to MP3 files to help learning.

Our principal Concerts each year are held during the ' Fete de la Musique ', in mid June, in Eymet and Bergerac. In addition we normally sing in the Church and in the Square at Christmas, and at other events when we are able and given sufficient notice.

Season 2017/2018 Programme

The season 2017-2018 will include an original composition, a Little Requiem, by our leader Simon Kenworthy, to be included in a special Mass on Sunday November 5th at 11:15 in Eymet Church. Our annual Carols in the Square will take place on Thursday 14th December at 7pm preceded  by a Seven Lessons and Carol Service at the Church at 6pm. As always, we will be presenting some special Carol pieces from the Choir.

In the New Year we will be preparing for our annual Concerts, this year Dido and Aeneas by Purcell. This is a stunning dramatic piece, for which we will have a string orchestra and two professional singers, one of whom Alison Hudson, has delighted our local audiences before when she sang with us in 2016 and 2015. Watch out for our imaginative staging and special effects! Our Concerts will be in Eymet Church on Saturday 9th June at 8pm and on Sunday 10th June at 3pm in Castillones Church 47 at 3pm.
