Creative Stitchers
Group leaders: Christine Etches, Lindsay Beckman and Teresa Keys
A new group is starting up to stitch together on Friday afternoons at the Centre de Loisirs (except school holidays). Dates are available in the main calendar.
The group will cover all sorts of textile art focusing mainly on patchwork and quilting. This will be aimed at everyone from beginners to experienced creators. The group leaders are all experienced in patchworking, and skilled in different areas of textile art.
From learning how to create basic patchwork blocks, to quilting, appliqué or embroidery to complete your projects, all aspects of the different techniques will be covered in mini-workshops.
Once we have a group running, we can tailor our meetings according to the levels required and the experience of our members.
All the different techniques can be produced by hand or by machine. You will be shown the basic equipment required to measure and cut fabric to produce basic patchwork blocks like ‘log cabin’. Once you’ve mastered that, there’s no limit to the possibilities! Whether by hand or machine, you can learn to produce amazing creations!
