ACFAA host student group

ACFAA host European Studies students – May 2026

On a day of intense summer heat, ACFAA welcomed a group of forty students and teachers from Le collège Gérard Philipe in Pessac, Bordeaux.  The students from the 4th and 5th grade of the European Studies department were accompanied by their tutors Mme Gonzales-Janvier, Mme Herran, Mme Petit et Mme Avril.

The morning began with a guided tour of the village organised by the Office de Tourisme, giving the students a chance to discover the character and history of Eymet.

After enjoying lunch together in the park, the group spent the afternoon taking part in English conversation sessions, hosted by ACFAA members.  Several volunteers generously gave their time to help make the event a success, creating a friendly, welcoming atmosphere for discussion.

The students, had come well-prepared, bringing plenty of thoughtful questions.  They were particularly interested in learning about life in France from a British perspective and were keen to explore differences and similarities in culture and tradition.  This was the second time that we have collaborated with this particular college by hosting a group from their European Studies department.

Their curiosity and enthusiasm made it a rewarding experience for everyone involved, a really enjoyable day.
