AGM 2026
Summary
The Annual General Meeting for 2026 took place at the Jardin de Cadix in Eymet on 21st May. At least 70 members were in attendance including M. Jérôme Betaille, Eymet’s recently re-elected Maire.
Key Points
- The total number of members during 2025/26 amounted to just under 800
- The financial position remains strong
- From 2026/27 the membership fee will be 15 euros per person, with the couple’s discounted rate ceasing. The over-75 free membership concession will end from 2027/28. Free membership for aged 17+ and those in full-time education will continue
- The Association is introducing an Expenses policy in order to fairly recompense its volunteers for out-of-pocket expenses, including mileage, incurred carrying out recognised ACFAA activities
- Length of tenure of committee members will remain four years for Officer posts (President, Vice-President, Treasurer and Secretary) but reduce to two years for ordinary committee members.

- Nicole Clough was re-elected as Treasurer
- Christina McCarthy was re-elected as a Committee Member.
The minutes of the 2025 AGM were approved without comment, followed by verbal reports by the President, Treasurer, Membership Secretary, Language Group Coordinator and Social Committee.
Assembled members also voted to approve the revised Internal Rules of the Association in light of changes to membership fees and tenure of committee members.
Wendy O’Meara gave a verbal report on membership numbers, highlighting the joining of 218 brand new members this year.
President Claire Riley said: “It’s been another wonderful year in which we welcomed two new weekly groups – Tai Chi and Creative Stitchers – and organised a wide variety of events and trips around our region.
“Taking a forward looking view, in order to safeguard our strong position, we have taken some decisions in regard to our membership fee structure that will also enable us to recompense our many volunteers for expenses they incur in the course of delivering ACFAA activities.”
Many groups displayed elements of their work at the AGM and others gave a verbal report on their activities, including the Line Dancing ‘Crazy Stompers’ who are this year celebrating the 20th year since the founding of the group.
